Privacy Policy

2Twelve DAO L.C. (“2Twelve DAO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates 212dao.org, 212DAO, and the related beta application and testnet interfaces. For the information we control, 2Twelve DAO L.C. is the service operator and data controller.

This policy applies when you browse the site, join a waitlist, create or use an account, connect a wallet, participate in DAO features, contact us, or otherwise use the beta services. Third-party sites, wallets, networks, and services have their own privacy terms.

The HAP protocol and 212DAO beta application are under development and subject to change. Protocol documentation and website content may not reflect the current state of the protocol at every moment, are not final, and may change. 2Twelve DAO L.C. does not guarantee any level of data security or stored value during beta.

• Account and profile information: name, email address, optional mobile number, display name, account identifiers, zone roles, membership records, and preferences. Authentication credentials are processed through our authentication provider.
• Waitlist and communications: contact details, beta interests, support requests, and messages you send to us.
• Wallet and blockchain information: public wallet addresses, wallet-signature challenges, transaction hashes, smart-contract activity, token balances, and public testnet records. We never ask for or collect your private key or seed phrase.
• DAO participation: signals, votes, chat messages, proposals, zone activity, and other content you submit or make public.
• Technical and security information: IP address, request and server logs, browser or device details, error data, access events, and information used to detect abuse or protect the service.
• Essential browser storage: session state, safety-disclosure acceptance, selected zone context, theme, and incomplete workflow state stored in your browser.

We use information to:

• operate accounts, authentication, zones, DAO participation, vault, and testnet features;
• verify wallet control and authorize actions requested by the connected wallet;
• manage waitlists, respond to support, and send service or beta communications;
• prevent fraud, investigate misuse, secure systems, and enforce our Terms;
• diagnose errors, maintain the service, and improve beta usability and reliability; and
• comply with law, legal process, and legitimate regulatory or security obligations.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share personal information for targeted advertising, as of the effective date of this policy.

We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Supabase for database and authentication services, Vercel for hosting and operational delivery, Resend when email notification is enabled, wallet software such as MetaMask, RPC providers, and public testnet infrastructure.
• Public activity: wallet addresses, transactions, and smart-contract interactions submitted to a blockchain are public. DAO content you post to public areas may also be visible to others.
• Safety and law: when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, enforce agreements, comply with legal process, or defend legal rights.
• Business changes: as part of a financing, reorganization, merger, sale, or transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality and applicable law.

Public blockchains are designed to preserve records. Wallet addresses, transactions, and contract events may be visible worldwide, copied by third parties, and impossible for us to alter or delete. Using a new address does not necessarily make activity anonymous.

A cryptographic wallet signature helps verify control of an address; it does not encrypt every item of personal information you submit to the application. You are responsible for protecting your wallet, devices, recovery material, and transaction approvals.

We strive to protect information through layered authentication, role-based and least-privilege access, wallet-signature verification, transport encryption, provider encryption where available, logging, and ongoing security review. These controls reduce risk but do not eliminate it.

No internet service, database, wallet, smart contract, or storage system is guaranteed secure. Evolving threats—including automated and AI-assisted attacks—software defects, human error, third-party failures, network attacks, and technologies outside our control can compromise confidentiality, integrity, availability, data, or stored value.

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to operate and secure the beta, maintain required records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and satisfy legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information, why it was collected, its sensitivity, security needs, and applicable law.

Depending on where you live, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information we control. Send requests to support@212dao.org. We may verify your identity and may retain or decline to alter information when required for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or because a public blockchain record is technically immutable. We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights provided by applicable law.

Our service providers and public networks may process information in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws. Where required, we use legally recognized safeguards for international processing.

The beta is for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information to the service.

We may revise this policy as the beta, technology, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
